Energy storage is the latest buzz and for good reason; our state's energy network is a mess (and it's not going to be fixed overnight).

Adding energy storage to an existing solar system or building an entire system from scratch makes excellent economic sense.
For most home owners solar alone reduces power bills slightly, with the bulk of energy generated heading out to the grid for a meager return.
Having a storage system means some or all of the surplus solar energy gets stored on site for you to use later, further reducing energy bills.

Standard energy storage systems do have one problem though; when the grid goes down both your solar system and batteries need to turn off, meaning you are left in the dark along with everyone else.
